Concept Introduction:

Data are summed up to determine the number of units in a list and then divided by that number.

Given: the average weight of a group of boys and girls is 38kg. the average weight of boys is 42kg and that of girl is 33kg.

To Find: if number of boys is 25 than  the number of girls is ?

Solution: Let, X be the number of girl.

(42 * 25) + (33 * X)/25 + X = 38.

1050 + 33X = 38(25 + X).

1050 - 950 = 38X - 33X.

100 = 5X.

X = 20.
