Let the weight of the students of class a be x kg and the weight of the students of class b be y.
According to the question:-
Average weight of class a = (sum of the weight)/(total no. of students)
=>40=x/20
=>x=800
Average weight of class b=( sum of the weight)/ (total no. of the students)
=>50=y/30
=>y=1500
Now, average weight of the students of both the classes together= (Sum of the weights)/(total no. of students)
=800+1500/20+30
=2300/50
=46 kg
