B. thuringiensis is used as a biopesticide.

It can produce toxins for killing certain natural pesticide of plants. The gene responsible for this toxin is incorporated in to plants by bio-technology, thus making it resistant againist some groups of pesticides.

Most common are Bt cotton, Bt brinjal etc...
