the bank lent rupees 1550 partly at 5% and partly at 8% per annum interest.The total interest received by the bank after three years was rupees 300. what is the ratio of money lent at 5% to that lent at 8%?

300=\frac{x*3*5}{100}+\frac{(1550-x)*3*8}{100}

300*100=15x+37,200-24x

30,000=15x+37,200-24x

24x-15x=37,200-30,000

9x=7,200

x=\frac{7200}{9}

x=800(for 8%)

1550-x=1550 - 800

1550-x=750(for 5%)

\frac{800}{750}=\frac{16}{15}=16:15

∴The ratio of money lent at 5% to that lent at 8% is 16:15
