Prime Minister Narendra Modi initiate 171 km long Bansagar canal project in Mirzapur district of Uttar Pradesh.

It is multi function river valley project built on Son River situated in Ganges Basin in Madhya Pradesh.

The total chain of canal from the dam is 171 kms long. The canal network will bring waters from Shahdol district in Madhya Pradesh for Adwa Barrage,Meza Dam and Jirgo reservoir.
