let the equal sides be x, now x+x+12cm = 32cm
2x=20cm
x=10cm

semi perimeter (s)= ½perimeter
s= 16cm

area of triangle:
 \sqrt{s(s - a)(s - b)(s - c)}  \\  \\  =  \sqrt{16 \times 4 \times 6 \times 6}  \\  = 4 \times 2 \times 6 \\  = 48cm { }^{2}
