The base ,altitude and the one diagonal of a rhombus are 10cm ,7cm and  12cm respectively. The other diagonal is 11.67 cm ≈ 12 cm.

  • Given,
  • The base of a rhombus = b = 10 cm
  • The altitude of a rhombus = h = 7 cm
  • The one diagonal of a rhombus = d1 =  12 cm
  • Formulae for calculating the area of rhombus are:
  • A = 1/2 * d1 * d2  (calculating area using the diagonals)
  • A = b * h (calculating the area using sides)
  • Therefore,
  • 1/2 * d1 * d2 = b * h
  • 1/2 * 12 * d2 = 10 * 7
  • 6 * d2 = 10 * 7
  • 3 * d2 = 5 * 7
  • d2 = (5 * 7)/3 = 35/3
  • ∴ d2 = 11.67 cm ≈ 12 cm
