The base and altitude of a parallelogram are in the ratio 2:3. If the area of the field is 3,456m2. Find the base and altitude of the parallelogram.

Let the ratio be x.

So, base and altitude = 2x and 3x.

Area of field = bxh

3456 = 2x*3x

3456 = 6xsquare

x square = 3456/6

x square = 576

x = √576

x=24

So, base = 2x = 2*24 = 48 m

Altitude = 3x = 3*24 = 72 m
