The base and corresponding altitude of a triangle are in the ratio 3:4. If the area
of the triangle is 294 cm2, find the base and the altitude.

let's the base be 3x & altitude be 4x

A = 1/2 x b x h

294 = 1/2 x 3x x 4x

294 = 6x

x = 294/6

x = 49

so, b= 3(49) ; h = 4(49)

b = 147cm h = 196cm
