Answer:

let 2x and 3x be a base and length of a rectangle respectively

Area of rectangle = 40 cm^2

length × breadth = 40

3x × 2x = 40

6x^2 = 40

x^2 = 40/6

x^2 = 20/3

x = (20/3)^2

Answer:

let the base be 2x and height be 3x

since reactangle is a parallelogram, area of parallelogram= b * h

area of this particular rectangle= 2 X * 3x = 6x^2

according to the, 6x^2 = 40

x^2 = 40/6

x = √(40/6) = √(20/3)

base = 2 * √(20/3) cm

height = 3 * √(20/3)cm

[checking if answer is correct : area = b * h = 2 * √(20/3) * 3 * √(20/3) = 6 * 20/3 = 40 cm^2 ] , hence above are the dimensions of rectangle
