Given :

The base and height of a triangle are in ratio 5:3

Area of triangle is 43.2 sq.m.

To Find:

find the base and height of the triangle.

Solution:

The base and height of a triangle are in ratio 5:3

Let the ratio be x

So, Base = 5x

Height = 3x

Area of triangle = \frac{1}{2} \times Base \times Height

Area of triangle =\frac{1}{2} \times 3x \times 5x

We are given that area of triangle is 43.2 sq.m.

So, \frac{1}{2} \times 3x \times 5x=43.2

x^2=\frac{43.2 \times 2}{3 \times 5}

x=\sqrt{\frac{43.2 \times 2}{3 \times 5}}

x=2.4

Base = 5x=5(2.4)=12 m

Height = 3x=3(2.4)=7.2 m

Hence The base and height of triangle are 12 m and 7.2 m respectively.
