*GIVEN*

let the base of a triangle = 5x m

let the height of a triangle=4x m

Area is given =40m^2

Step-by-step explanation:

SO THE AREA OF TRIANGLE= 1/2×B×H

40= 1/2×5x×4x

40= 1/2×20x

80=20x

X= 80/20

= 40

SO THE BASE = 5×40=200 m

HEIGHT =4×40= 160 m

The base and the height of a triangle are in the ratio = 5 : 4

So,

  • Base = 5x

  • Height = 4x

Since, area of the triangle = 40 m²

➳ 1/2 × 5x × 4x = 40

➳ 20x² = 80

➳ x² = 4

➳ x = ✓4

➳ x = 2

Therefore,

  • Base = 5 × 2 = 10 m

  • Height = 4 × 2 = 8 m
