The base and height of a triangle are in the ratio 5:4. It's area is 40m², then the base and height will ?

let ratio be x

so, base = 5x

height = 4x

 \: area of ∆ = 40 m^2

\frac{1}{2}  \times base \times height = 40 {m}^{2}

base \times height = 40 \times 2

b \times h = 80 {m}^{2}

5x \times 4x = 80 {m}^{2}

20 {x}^{2}  = 80 {m}^{2}

 {x}^{2}  =  \frac{80 {m}^{2} }{20}

 {x}^{2}  = 4 {m}^{2}

 {(x)}^{2}  =  {(2m)}^{2}

x = 2m

Base = 5x = 5×2 = 10 m

height = 4x = 4×2 = 8m
