let the base be 4x and height be 5x.

ar. of ∆ = 1/2 × b × h

1000 cm^2 = 1/2 × 4x × 5x

1000 cm^2 = 10 x^2

x^2 = 1000/10

x^2 = 100

x = 10

b = 4x = 4×10 = 40cm

h = 5x = 5×10 = 50cm

Answer:

base = 40 cm

height = 50 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

base/height = 4/5

b = 4/5×h

area of triangle = 1/2 base  height

       1000           = 1/2 ×b × h

                   1000 = 1/2 ×4/5h×h

         1000×2×5/4= h²

                        h² =  2500

                        h = 50 cm

∴base = 4/5×50              ...... from 1

base = 40 cm.
