Other parallel side = 49 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

  • Base and corresponding altitude of ||gm are 35 & 42 cm.
  • Measure of other altitude of ||gm us 30 cm.

To Find:

  • What is the length of other pair of Parallel sides ?

Solution: Let ABCD be a parallelogram. Where,

  • AB = 35 cm (Base) then,
  • DE = 42 cm (Corresponding altitude)

And , when

  • BC = Base , then
  • DF = 30 cm (Corresponding altitude)

As we know that:-

Area of ||gm = ( Base \times Height )

Therefore, area of parallelogram when the base is AB is

\implies{\rm } Area = ( AB \times DE ) c

\implies{\rm } Area = ( 35 \times 42 ) cm²

\implies{\rm } Area = 1470 cm²

So, The area of ||gm ABCD is 1470 cm².

Now, again area of ABCD when we take BC as base and DF as corresponding altitude.

Area of ||gm = ( BC \times DF )

\implies{\rm } 1470 = ( BC \times 30 )

\implies{\rm } 1470/30 = BC

\implies{\rm } 49 cm = BC

Hence, the other parallel side of parallelogram is 49 cm.
