Answer:

AS WE KNOW AREA OF TRIANGLE IS 1/2*B*H

GIVEN: BASE =7 and HEIGHT= 4 IN RATIO

LET THESE RATIO IN A VARIABLE X

SO BASE AND HEIGHT WOULD BE 7x AND 4x RESPECTIVILY

NOW PUTTING VALUES TO EQUATION

1/2 *7x*4x = 87.5

here x =87.5*2/7*4. as when we divide

now. x= 12.5*2/4 7 it gives q as 12.5

now the. x = 25/4. as. 12.5 *2 it gives 25

now. x= 6.25

now x= 6.25 so

base = 7*6.25 and height =4*6.25

hence required answer will be after multiplying

Answer:

Base = 17.5cm

Height = 10cm

Step-by-step explanation:

࿐ \large\bf{Correct \:  Question}

  1. The base and height of the triangle are in the ratio 7:4. If the area of the triangle is 87.5 cm².Find the base and height.

࿐ \large\bf{Given}

  • Ratio of base and height = 7 : 4
  • Area of the triangle = 87.5cm²

 ࿐\large\bf{To \:  Find}

  • Base and height of the triangle

࿐ \large\bf{Assuming}

  • Let the base 7x cm and height 4x cm

࿐ \large\bf{Solution}

  ✭\small\bf{Area \:  =  \frac{1}{2} \times  Base × Height}

➻  \small\rm{(\frac{1}{2} \times 7x \times 4x) {cm}^{2}  }

➻ \small\rm (14 {x) ^{2} }{cm}^{2}

 \small \rm{14 {x}^{2} = 87.5 }

 ➻  \: \small \rm{{x}^{2} =  \frac{87.5}{14}  = 6.25}

➻ \small\rm{  \: x = \sqrt{6.25} = 2.5  }

Base = 7xcm

= (7 × 2.5) cm = 17.5cm

Height = 4x cm

= (4 × 2.5)cm = 10cm

Hence, Base = 17.5cm and Height = 10cm
