Surface area of the article

Solution:

The curved surface area of a cone = πrl,

where l is the slant height and r is the radius.

Now, Slant height = l² = r² + h²

Thus,

l = √r² + h²

l = √5² + 12²

l = √25 + 144

l = √169

l = 13

Thus, curved surface area = πrl + πr²

= π × 5 × 13 + π × (5)²

= 3.14 × 65 + 3.14 × 25

= 204.1 + 78.5

= 282.6

Answer: Surface area of the article is 282.6 cm
