Given

  • The base of a parallelogram is 4 times its height.
  • Area of the parallelogram is 1024cm².

To find

  • Base and height of the parallelogram.

Solution

  • Let the height of the parallelogram be h. Then base of the parallelogram will be 4h.

We have area of the parallelogram, so we use the formula, area of a parallelogram.

Area = Base × height

→ Area = 1024

→ Base × Height = 1024

→ 4h × h = 1024

→ 4h² = 1024

→ h² = 1024/4

→ h² = 256

→ h = √256

h = 16cm

  • By putting the value

→ Base = 4h

→ Base = 4 × 16

Base = 64cm

Hence,

  • Base of the parallelogram is 64cm.
  • Height of the parallelogram is 16cm.
