Let the height of the given parallelogram be "h" and its base be ''b".

Then, its base (b) = 2h.

By condition,

Base × Height = Area

Or, 2h × h = 512

Or, 2h² = 512

Or, h² = 512/2

Or, h² = 256

Or, h = √256 or ± 16

Now, since the height of a parallelogram cannot be negative its height will be 16 cm. Its base will correspondingly become (2×16) cm or 32 cm.
