Answer:

14 cm

let height be h

; base= 2h

area of parallelogram = bxh

98 cm² = 2h x h

98 = 2h²

h² = 98/2

h = √49

h= 7 cm

; base = 14 cm

Given:

  • Base = 2 × height
  • Area = 98 cm²

To find:

  1. Base
  2. Height

Method:

Let the base of Parallelogram be b and height be h

Formula used:

Area of parallelogram = Base × Height

Substitute given values in the formula.

Area of parallelogram = Base × Height

98 = Base × Height

⇒ 98 = 2h × h

⇒ 98 = 2h²

⇒ 2h² = 98

⇒ h² = 98 ÷ 2

⇒ h² = 49

⇒ h = √49

h = 7 cm

According to the question,

Base = 2 × Height

→ Base = 2 × 7

Base = 14 cm

Therefore

Base of Parallelogram = 7 cm

Height of Parallelogram = 14 cm
