In right-angled triangle ABC

  AB² + BC² = AC² (By Pythagoras Theorem) 

⇒  AB² + 4² = 5²

⇒  AB² = 25 – 16 = 9 5 cm 

⇒  AB = 3 cm

∴   Area of △ABC = 1/2 BC x AB = 1/2 x 4 x 3 = 6cm²
