given :-
base of the right angle triangle = 8cm
hypotenuse of the right angle triangle = 10cm
we know the formula for finding the area of a right angle triangle. that's 1/2 × b × h
where b is the base of the triangle and h is the altitude of the triangle.
here we aren't given the altitude. we r given base and hypotenuse. so first of all, we have to find it's altitude.
by Pythagoras theorem :-
==> b² + p² = h²
==> 8² + p² = 10²
==> 64 + p² = 100
==> p² = 100 - 64
==> p² = 36
==> p = √36
==> p = 6
therefore the altitude of the triangle is 6cm.
now, area of the triangle = 1/2 × b × h
= 1/2 × 8 × 6
= 4 × 6
= 24cm²
hence, it's area is 24cm²
hope this helps..!!
