  • 11cm is the median of the trapezium.

  • Length of the bases are - 13cm , 9cm.

  • Find the length of the median of the trapezium?

\large{\underbrace{\sf{\orange{let's \:  understand \:  the \:  concept:}}}}

As we know, Median of the trapezium is the line that joins the mid points of the non - parallel sides of the trapizium. The median of the trapezium is parallel to the two bases ( 13cm and 9cm ). To find the median of the trapizium we need to apply this formula, Median of the trapezium = Half the sum of the base lengths.

So , let's do this ::

\large{\underbrace{\sf{\red{Formula:}}}}

 \sf Median  \: of  \: the  \: trapezium = \dfrac{1}{2} \times  \bigg [First \: base + Second \: base \bigg]

\sf \blue{ \huge{{Solution : }}}

 : \implies  \sf   \bigg(\dfrac{1}{2}  \times \bigg [13 + 9\bigg] \bigg)

: \implies  \sf   \bigg(\dfrac{1}{2}  \times22\bigg)

: \implies   \boxed {\sf   \orange{ 11cm}}

Question:-

  1. The base of a trapezium are 13cm and 9cm. Find the length of the median of a trapezium.

Given that,

  • The base of trapezium = 13cm and 9cm

Let:-

  • B = base

To find,

  • Length of the median of the trapezium

Solution:-

Formula of trapezium = \rm \dfrac{1}{2} \:[first \: b+ \:second \:b]

\rm(\dfrac{1}{2} \times[13+9])

\rm\dfrac{1}{2} \times 22

  ⇒ 11 cm
