Answer:

Let altitude =Xcm

Therefore, base= (X+4)cm

Given, area= 48sq.cm

1/2*b*h = 48

1/2*(X+4)*X = 48

Xsq+4X = 24

Xsq +4X-24=0

Now this is quadratic equation

Answer:

let base be x+4.

and height be x.

then, area=1/2*base*height.

so,1/2*(x+4)*x

=(1/2x+2)*x

=1/2xsq.+2x=48
