Let the altitude of the triangle be x
Hence base = 3x
Area of triangle = (1/2) × base × height
= (1/2) × (x) × (3x) = 3x2/2
Cost of sowing the field at rs 58 per hectare = 58 × 3x2/2 = 87x2
Therefore, 87x2 = 783
x2 = 783/87 = 9
⇒ x = 3
Base = 3(3) = 9
Hence base is 9 and altitude is 3.
