The perimeter of the triangle will be 36 cm.

Given data :

Base of the triangle = 16 cm

Area = 48 cm²

Let,height = h cm

According to the formula,

(1/2)×h×16 = 48

h×8 = 48

h = 48/8 = 6 cm

Let,two equal sides = x cm

Half of the base = 16/2 = 8 cm

Applying Pythagoras theorem ;

x² = 6² + 8²

x² = 36+ 64

x² = 100

x = ✓100

x = 10

So,the perimeter = {(10×2)+16}cm

= (20+16)cm = 36cm (answer).
