The base of an isosceles triangle is 3 less than the measure of each of the equal side. If the perimeter of triangle is 21 cm then the find the length of each side?​

Let the equal sides be x

Third side = x - 3

Perimeter of the isosceles triangle = 21 cm

According to the problem:

P = 2a + b

21 = 2x + ( x -3)

21 = 3x - 3

21 + 3 = 3x

24 = 3x

x = 8 cm

two Equal sides = 8 cm

Third side = 5 cm
