Isosceles triangle ⇒ two of the sides are equal

Find the length of one of the equal sides:

Given that the perimeter is 7.9 cm and the base is 16.7 cm

Two equal sides = 16.7 - 7.9 = 8.8 cm

one equal side = 8.8 ÷ 2 = 4.4 cm

Answer: The length of each of the equal side is 4.4 cm

given

base of an isosceles triangle = 7.9 cm

perimeter of an isosceles triangle = 16.7 cm

we know that two sides are equal in an isocles triangle .

To know the length of each equal side , subtract the base from perimeter .

perimeter - base = 16.7 - 7.9 = 8.8.

dividing by 2 = 8.8 ÷ 2 = 4.4 cm .

verified -

4.4 + 4.4 + 7.9 = 16.7 cm

hence , length of each equal side is 4.4 cm .
