724.07734 cm square

equal side : base = 3:2

equal side : base = x:32

x = 3*16

= 48

you can use pythagoras to find the height!

since its isosceles, you can divide the triangle in 2 halfs,

h^2 + 16^2 = 48^2

h^2 = 2304-256

= 2048

h = square root of 2048 = 45.25483

area = 1/2 * h * base

= 1/2 * 45.25483 * 32

= 724.07734 cm square

james1239: wrong answer. Please correct it
armaangoel217: what does ur book say is the correct answer?
james1239: no
james1239: correct answer is 32 root under 3 cm2
armaangoel217: are you sure your question is correct? if the base of a triangle is 32, then its area being only 55 is quite impossible
james1239: I have solved this question but answer is not asn
