Solution:

The base of the lampshade is a regular hexagon

=> there would be 6 triangular Shapes  of Equal Sizes

Each triangle Size is  Base = 8 inch  & Perpendicular Height = 10 inch

Area of Each triangle = (1/2) * Base * Height

= (1/2) * 8 * 10

= 40 sq  inch

Area of 6 Such triangle = 6 * 40 = 240 sq inches

the amount of glass needed to make the lampshade.= 240 sq iches
