Let the height of the parallelogram be x
Then, the base will 3x
Now, area of parallelogram is 192cm
It means that base *height =192cm
Therefore, x *3x=192cm
3x^2=192
X^2=64
X=8cm
It means that
Height is 8cm
And base is of 8*3=24cm

Given:

  • The area of the parallelogram = 192 cm^2
  • The base of the parallelogram = thrice its height.

To Find:

  • The base and the height of the parallelogram.

Solution:

  • Let x be the height of the parallelogram.
  • From the given data we can get to know that, base of the parallelogram = 3x.
  • We knew that the area of the parallelogram is given by,
  • area = height*base
  • Substitute the given values in the above formula.
  • 192 = x*3x
  • 192 = 3x^2
  • x^2 = 192/3 = 64
  • x = √64
  • x = 8
  • Substitute the value of x in the height and base obtained.
  • Height = x = 8 cm
  • Base = 3x = 3*8 = 24 cm

∴ The height of the parallelogram is 8 cm and the base of the parallelogram is 24 cm.
