so base is taken as b/2 and height is taken as 2h

we know the formula of area of triangle i.e. 1/2×base×height

let's substitute the values of base and height in the area of triangle formula

=1/2×b/2×2h

cancel the"2" in both 1/2 and 2h

=b/2×h

(we can write b/2 has 1/2×b , because both are same)

=1/2×b×h

therefore, the area of triangle remains unchanged when we half the base and double the height
