Question

If the base of a triangle is four times its height and its area is 50 square meters, then can you find the length of the base?

Answer : Base = 20 m

Solution

Base = 4 altitude

Altitude = ¼ base

Area of triangle, A = ½ × base × altitude = 50 m²

50 = ½ × base × ¼ base

400 = base ² = 2²×10²

Base = 20 m

Check: A = 1/2(10)(5/2) = 50 sq. m.

Hope it helps uh!!
