Answer :

  • Area is 4√15 cm²

Given :

  • The base (un equal side ) of an iscoscles triangle is 4cm
  • Perimeter is 20cm

To find :

  • Area

Solution :

  • Let the sides of triangle be a and a&b
  • b = 4cm

Given that,

  • Perimeter = 20cm

》a + a + b = 20

》2a + 4 = 20

》2a = 20 - 4

》2a = 16cm

》a = 16/2

》a = 8cm

As we know that,

  • Semi - Perimeter = Perimeter/2 = 20/2 = 10cm

And also, we know that,

  • Area = s(s - a) (s - b) (s - c)

where, s is 10cm and a is 8cm

》Area = √s(s - a) (s - b) (s - c)

》Area = √10(10 - 8) (10 - 4) (10 - 8 )

》Area = √10 × 2 × 6 × 2

》Area = √2 × 5 × 2 × 2 × 3 × 2

》Area = 4√15 cm²

Hence, Area is 4√15 cm²
