Explanation:

Thermal shutdown circuit detects overheating of the regulator.It is used to protect the regulator from major damage. If the regulator output pin is shorted to the ground pin then stop the operation  when the regulator produce overheating process.

Current limiting is used to limit the inrush current in device. It is used to define a type of overcurrent protective device.

Here, IC-741,IC-317 and IC-555 doesn't need the process of thermal shutdown and current limiting. Because, every IC circuit temperature range is minimum -55c to maximum +125c. So, thermal shutdown and current limiting are not used these IC circuits.

Finally option (d) none of these is correct answer for this question.
