The battle of buxar was defenately turning point which established british as a full fledged authority even got Nizamat and Diwani i.e rule and collect revenue from bengal.

of course , it was a turning point in Indian history and of Bengal . When Mir Jafar was reinstalled at Bengal the company taken a breath of relief. As the Nawab had to pay 5,00,000 rupees to company. This also made company realise that the Nawabs were not always as they have also to maintain their dignity
