Answer:

Gandhi was ready to go to jail fighting against the injustice to the sharecroppers. Many prominent lawyers had come from all over Bihar to advise and help him...Gandhiji taught the lawyers  the need to be self-reliant by stopping them from seeking help of an English man. At first the lawyers said they would go back if Gandhi went to prison. Later they had consultations. They told Gandhi that they were ready to follow him into the jail. This support made Gandhi happy and confident.
