Answer:

a) 13

Explanation:

No. of books read by Raman = (1/4 x Total) - 5

Therefore, Total no. of books = 15 (Ridhima) + 16 (Pradip) + 15 (Sarthak) + 26                                                                                                                         (Sita)

No.of book Raman read = 1/4 x 72 - 5

No.of book Raman read = 72/4 - 5

No.of book Raman read = 18 - 5

No.of book Raman read = 13 (Answer)

Hope this helps :)

Given : Number of books read by five children in one month

Raman -- ??

Ridhima --- 15

Pradip --16

Sarthak ---15

Sita ---26

if Raman read 5 books less than 1/4 of the total number of books read by the other four children

To Find : how many books did Raman read in a month

Solution:

Ridhima --- 15

Pradip --16

Sarthak ---15

Sita ---26

Total number of books read by the other four children

= 15 + 16 + 15 + 26

= 72

Raman read 5 books less than 1/4 of the total number of books read by the other four children

= (1/4)72 - 5

= 18 - 5

= 13

Hence Number of book read by Raman = 13

Correct option is  a) 13
