Back When I was about 6 I told my grandfather that my older brother(who was 10) was picking on me. My grandfather told me, when he was a little older then me, while he was living in the backwoods of Alabama, he had the same problem, so he hit his older brother with a brick, and never had the problem again. Right after that he told me to not hit my brother with a brick after I came back from the house that was under counstruction with a brick.

During my childhood, I used to always demand my grandfather to tell me a story right before bed time. One of the most touching story he told me will always remain with me.
I think I was about 5/ 6 years old when he tole me about his childhood days. He had been born from a poor family with lots of siblings. So, getting enough food to feed everyone was a difficult task. He, being the eldest, had to help his parents work on the farm right from his early childhood, and did not even have the chance to go to school. he would go to the fields in the forest from dawn and then return by night. On days he was sick and unable to work, he would be left in the house to take care of the younger children. So, till now, he is unable to read or write his own name.
But that was why he worked hard not to make his children suffer like he did. He then proceeded to tell me that it is important for me to never give up on my studies, and that I will endure and be patient about it even if it gets tough. That was one of the most valuable and touching stories he had told me and had a huge impact on me too.
