Objective Resolution was passed by PT. Jawahar Lal Nehru on 13th December 1946 (in the first session of Constituent Assembly). It contained the basic ideology and philosophy upon which our Constitution should be drafted by makers. It consisted of principles like India should be Democratic, Sovereign, Republic State. The concept of federalism, speech, and expression, liberty and welfare State Principles were also instilled. It later became the Preamble to the Constitution which is an introduction to the objectives of the Constitution.
