In the story "If I were you" the narrator Vincent Charles Gerrard faces an intruder who came to kill him and take his belongings like his car including his identity to escape from cops. But in such situation Gerrard did not lose his patience and kept calm until the intruder gets frustrated. At the end the intruder was trapped in the words of Gerrard and finally Gerrard escaped his death using his patience and intelligence.

It is absolutely true any crisis can be dealt with calmness. Undoubtedly, a calm mind is far more valuable than anything. If one has presence of mind, one can solve any problem. Calmness of mind makes one creative, innovative, resourceful, and knowledgeable.
