the best way to thank an illiterate person is to make him/her literate. give your opinion and justify them with reference to how I taught my grandmother to read.

In our society there are many people who cannot read and write and in them some are really talented we need to make grow and develop. In the story of how I taught my grandmother its very clear that the grandmother had the wish to read and she was successful also in doing this but with the help of his granddaughter this shows that a little effort of someone can develop the other person entirely.
