Taxonomy includes all the known living organism on the Earth which is classified and named according to the set of rules. Scientist Carolus Linnaeus, who is also known as Father of Taxonomy, started this system and he classified the organism which was based on the common similarities between different organisms. It is a systematic system that grouped plant and animals by characteristics and relationship.

Scientist observed the characteristics that each organism had in common and they used shared of organisms. They were able to find out the common ancestor of the organisms. Vertical classification means phylogenetic extending from ancestor to descendant through time whereas horizontal classification grouped texa in a similar stage of evolution.
