Given :- The bike store marks up the wholesale cost of all of the bikes they sell by 30%. 1. Andre wants to buy a bike that has a price tag of $125. What was the wholesale cost of this bike ?

Solution :-

Let us assume that, wholesale cost was Rs.x

→ Mark up price = Price tag = $125 .

→ Mark up rate = 30% .

so,

→ Mark up price = wholesale cost + 30% of wholesale cost .

→ Mark up price = wholesale cost (100% + 30%)

→ Mark up price = 130% of x .

→ 125 = (130 * x)/100

→ 12500 = 130x

→ x = (1250/13)

→ x = $96.15 (Ans.)

Hence, the wholesale cost of this bike is $96.15 .
