We know that,

The Kinetic energy of a satellite revolving around the planet in a circular orbit is due to its orbital motion, so, the formula for K.E. of a revolving satellite is given as,

K.E. = [GMm]/2r ….. (i)

Where,

G = Universal gravitational constant

M = mass of the earth

m = mass of the satellite

r = radius of the circular orbit of the satellite

Also, the binding energy is the energy required to remove the satellite from its orbit around the planet to infinity and the formula for the Binding energy of the revolving satellite is given as,

B.E. = [the energy of the satellite at infinity] – [the energy of the satellite in its orbit]

B.E. = 0 - [- (GMm)/2r]

B.E. = [GMm]/2r …. (ii)

From eq. (i) & (ii), we get

K.E. = B.E.  

and  

The binding energy of satellite revolving around the planet circular orbit is 3  * 10⁹ J.

K.E. = 3 *10⁹ J

Thus, the kinetic energy of the revolving satellite around the planet in a circular orbit is 3 *10⁹ J.
