✒ National Statistics Day is celebrated every year, to pay respect to the invaluable contributions by Indian mathematician PC Mahalanobis, on 29th June.

✒ In addition, he also launched Sankya, A statistical journal. He formulated the five year plan and established the National sample survey and set up Central Statistical organisation.
