The bisector of the vertical ∠ A of an isosceles triangle ABC meets the base BC at D. If AB = AC = 5 cm, AD = 3cm, Find the length of BC.

in tri ABD AB^2= AD^2+BD^2 25-9=BD^2 BD=4cm andIN TRI ADC AC^2=AD^2+CD^2 25-9=DC^2 DC=4cm BC=BD+DC BC=8cm
