The black hole was discovered by EHT (event horizon telescope)but a black hole is a region of space where gravity is so strong that nothing can escape,not even light . Since we know that when light reflects from an object and then this light causes to see the object . So how the EHT see the black hole because light cannot be able to escape from the black hole?

ok,so scientists were tracking matter which was under influence of black hole.when it was under black hole it was accelerated at a very high speed due to which there was light in form of heat.Telescopes all over the world were focused at the black hole.we were able to click those picks in segments
after joining those segments we get black hole's picks

Answer: The EHT can see the black hole because there is so much light and matter which is being taken in by the black hole and this causes a disc of matter to form around the black hole ,this happens because the black hole can't suck in matter fast enough .The telescope just was able to see the disc of gas and dust .
