Patient's lower pressure in SI unit = 13341.6 Pa

Explanation:

Given :

 Patient's higher blood pressure = 160 mm of Hg

 Patient's lower blood pressure = 100 mm of Hg

We know that,

Density of Hg  ρ = 13600 Kg/m^{3}

                          g =  9.81 m/s^{2}

and Pressure due to the fluid column of height( h)

                    P = ρgh

So,

Here,  Patient's lower blood pressure

                     h= 100 mm of Hg = 0.1 m of Hg

⇒                     P = 13600 × 9.81 × 0.1

                          = 13341.6 Pa

Patient's lower pressure in SI unit = 13341.6 Pa

Dear Student,

◆ Answer -

Lower pressure in SI unit = 13332 Pa

● Explaination -

Diastolic pressure is the lower blood pressure. i.e. here 100 mm Hg.

We know that, 1 mm Hg = 133.32 Pa

100 mm Hg = 100 × 133.32

100 mm Hg = 13332 Pa

Hence, lower pressure in SI unit is 13332 Pa.

* Higher (systolic) pressure in SI units 160 mm Hg = 160×133.32 = 21332 Pa.

Thanks dear. Hope this helps you..
