⇒ 30u= 10-4

⇒ u= 6/30

⇒ u=1/5

Now, 1/x-y= u

⇒ 1/x-y=5

⇒ x-y=5

⇒ x= 5+y ---- (7)

Now, v= 1/x+y

⇒ 1/11= 1/x+y

⇒ x+y=11 --- (8)

⇒ 5+y+y=11 (from 7)

⇒ 2y= 6

⇒ y= 3

Also x = 5+y

⇒ x = 5+3

x = 8

Therefore speed of boat is x km/h or 8km/h and speed of still water is y km/h or 3km/h.
